Midnight Conspiracy signs to Ultra Records, joining the likes of Deadmau5, Tiesto, Wolfgang Gartner, Steve Aoki and more to the dance label behemoth. What’s notable is Midnight Conspiracy is the first heavy bass act to join their roster. And what better way for Ultra Records to enter the increasingly popular world of dubstep and heavy bass electro than with the Chicago newcomers.
Midnight Conspiracy’s debut release on Ultra Records, The Eye Remix EP, a single they did with Rottun’s Cenob1te, is a big contrast to the rest of Ultra’s catalogue. The Eye Remix EP features brutal wobbles and massive bass in the form of Dubstep, Heavy Electro, and even Breaks and Drum N Bass from artists most people haven’t heard of yet, but ones Ultra thinks the world should discover.
The Eye Remix EP is out now and is the follow up for Ultra’s other bass-music release this month from Zeds Dead. Perhaps this is the beginning of a new direction for the traditionally house-oriented label towards the darker and heavier side of EDM.
