Brendan Benson - accomplished songwriter, producer, and co-founder of The Raconteurs - is proud to announce the launch of Readymade Films, the visual production arm of his own Nashville based Readymade Records and Publishing companies. To celebrate this new chapter in Readymade's growth, Readymade Films will host an interactive kick-off party at The Basement in Nashville, TN on August 4th. The event will be broadcast live world-wide on the internet, and feature a Turntable.fm DJ set from Benson as well as the debut screening of Bensons's Live In Los Angeles concert performance film. The night will finish off with a performance by the Readymade Record's newest discovery, The Howling Brothers.

The Readymade team has been assembling footage shot during the build up to What Kind of World's release, starting with a high-def concert film Live in Los Angeles, shot by Myke Adams in December of 2010. The band joining Benson on stage featured Ken Stringfellow, Jon Auer of The Posies / Big Star as well as drummer Brad Pemberton of Ryan Adams' Cardinals. The seasoned musicians put together a blistering set that has been edited with HQ audio from the show mixed by Benson himself for the release; available in audio format exclusively on Spotify.
Live in Los Angeles will premiere for Readymade fans in Nashville at The Basement on August 4th in an interactive event that audiences around the globe can participate in. Brendan will open the night at The Basement with a DJ set, which fans may listen in on remotely via Turntable.fm. The film will then screen, (broadcast live via brendanbenson.com), followed by a live performance from The Howling Brothers at The Basement also available to fans globally via streaming from Stage It.
Immediately following the conclusion of the screening, the film will be released via a donation-based model for fans online. Fans can purchase the HD concert performance as a download, or as a customized flash drive. Half of the donations will go to Benson, half to the filmmaker; giving the fans the option to make the project a success and voice if they want to see future film and music collaborations of this nature.
Next in the pipeline for Readymade Films will be the release of a short-form documentary on the Irish-American's tour of his motherland in 2010 with his wife and newborn son. The epic scenery captured by Reid Rolls, and edited by 2012 Soho International Film Festival and World-Fest Houston Winner Victor Reyes, will be released September 25th, exclusively bundled with Readymade Records' release of The Lost Brothers' The Passing of The Night.

Benson's output in the studio over the past year has been incredibly prolific. His production credits include his own recently released album What Kind of World, as well as records from Readymade artists Young Hines, Cory Chisel, The Howling Brothers, and The Lost Brothers. Film projects have naturally stemmed out of the music and community around the Detroit turned Nashville multi-instrumentalist. Many of the musicians came together around the first music video filmed for What Kind of World. The clip for 'Pretty Baby' was directed by Young Hines and features cameos by Michael McDonald of The Doobie Brothers and Readymade Records artist The Howling Brothers.
