Lonsdale Boys Club Charlie, Topher and Loz are, quite simply, a band who write songs. Songs that you're going to love. A lot.
Formed three years ago after they all signed up for guitar lessons with the same teacher in London, they've since gone on to support everyone from Olly Murs to The Kooks to the Ting Tings, winning over a raft of new fans with their infectious, summer-tinged pop songs.
In fact that description doesn't even begin to cover the huge spectrum of influences that make up their sound; we're talking a dash of Red Hot Chilli Peppers' funkiness, a dollop of the pop nous of Gym Class Heroes (who they share a producer with), the urban grit of the UK rap scene (they've become big players on SBTV and have collaborated with the likes of Yasmin, Sway and Wretch 32), a smattering of the current love for all things house, a pinch of roots reggae and, at the core of each song, a gargantuan hook or twelve.
Their sound is so eclectic and taken from so many different places that they're reluctant to pin it down. But if we had to pigeon-hole it somehow I'd say it's zesty, sprightly guitar pop with an urban flavour and banging beats, frontman Charlie says, completely accurately.
Lonsdale Boys Club are to play a one-off over 14's gig at Islington O2 Academy on the 14th August.
