Sierra Leonean singer Janka Nabay has teamed up with fellow countryman and Brooklyn-based rapper Pupa Bajah to release a national anthem and video for 'Ola Sesay' the only Sierra Leonean athlete to compete in the 2012 Summer Olympic Games.
The video mixes various Olympic and concert footage including a cameo of Sierra Leone artists Chief Boima and Papa Adakwa. Ola Sesay also contributed, as she and her coach shot 2nd camera at the Olympic training grounds in London.
Janka Nabay and his Brooklyn-based band the Bubu Gang will release their debut En Yay Sah LP on August 7 with Luaka Bop (Tom Zé, Javelin, Delicate Steve), which follows their acclaimed An Letah EP (True Panther Sounds).
