Boy George confirms for Antony’s Meltdown, part of Southbank Centre’s Festival of the World with MasterCard. In this special event in association with The Observer Antony will interview Boy George, someone who Antony cites as the one who first inspired him to pursue singing. The two have collaborated in the past including the duet 'You Are My Sister' on Antony and the Johnson’s Mercury Award winning album I Am A Bird Now. This will be a rare chance to see George perform a special unplugged set of new and classic material in the intimate setting of Southbank Centre’s Purcell Room (8 August). Limited Tickets!

Antony has announced he will be making a number of guest appearances throughout Meltdown. These will include appearances with Cyclobe (4 August), Marc Almond (9 August) and a much-anticipated appearance with Hercules and Love Affair (6 August), who he worked with on the single Blind, which was awarded Best Song of 2008 by Pitchfork.

Antony and the Johnsons (with Julia Kent, Maxim Moston and Rob Moose) will also be performing an acoustic set on 5th August, as part of an event also featuring dance by Johanna Constantine and Yoshito Ohno (son and former director of butoh legend Kazuo Ohno) and music and film by William Basinski.

Meltdown is part of the London 2012 Festival.

Antony said: "I am really looking forward to the next two weeks! Come and see my heroine Selda Bagçan with me on the 2nd! And Hal Willner's Freedom Rides is going to be utterly beautiful. I have spent the last two weeks editing a magazine which features art, poetry, photography, and interviews from all this Meltdown's participants, and it will be available at the Southbank during the festival. I feel honoured and privileged to be a part of these proceedings, appearing amongst so many artists that I adore.
