Spotify today announces its collaboration with US indie-folk band Bon Iver to launch a unique and exciting ‘remix’ competition for fans, entitled Bon Iver, Bon Iver: Stems Project.
From today until August 29th, music-lovers and fans of Bon Iver from across the globe will have a chance to leave their mark on the band’s Grammy award winning album Bon Iver, Bon Iver as part of an international competition. Budding music stars are being called upon to remix each of the ten tracks, which will be released in stem format for remixing via music-based social networking site Indaba Music.
Entrants will have the opportunity to be heard by millions globally as they are placed on digital music service Spotify and Indaba Music to face a public vote before the resulting shortlist is whittled down to the ten winning tracks chosen by Bon Iver.
The final winning remixes will then be released exclusively on Spotify for all to enjoy as a complete album. As well as recognition from the award winning band and the opportunity to have their remix heard on global music platform Spotify, each of the ten winners will also receive a $1,000 (approximately £640) cash prize.
