So, the impossibly predictable is happening. Pete Doherty and Carl Barat are writing new Libertines material, ten years after Doherty was kicked out the band for serious, prolonged substance abuse.
Pete told online TV show Hernu & Harris Unhinged:
The band have not performed since their summer reformation in 2010, which culminated in show-stopping performances at the Reading and Leeds festivals.
Earlier this week, Barat revealed the Libertines turned downed the chance to perform at the Olympic closing ceremony. He tweeted: "That was a closing party. Olympics. Libertines got asked, couldn't do it."
Pete told online TV show Hernu & Harris Unhinged:
"I spoke to Carl yesterday and he’s going to come out to Paris. Then we'll go back out to Thailand together and do some writing."
