Watch music video by The Milk feat. Idris Elba performing 'Picking Up The Pieces'.
The Milk reached out to Idris shortly after they were signed, hoping that he'd deliver a rap / monologue for a track on their debut album, 'Picking Up the Pieces'. Idris obviously made his name as Stringer Bell in The Wire or Luther for the Beeb, but was most recently seen in Prometheus (and is now rumoured to be playing Mandela). Still, he was such a fan of the track that he agreed, and the video that's just been released captures their one-take live session in Dean Street Studios. The recorded version appears on the band's forthcoming album, Tales From The Thames Delta (September 3), which is already picking up some really nice bits. A new single, 'Chip The Kids', is due on September 10 whilst the band will play V Festival this weekend - a homecoming of sorts for them - and Shepheds Bush Empire in the autumn.
