It's been eighteen years since Rinse FM was born in a flat in East London. In that time it's been far more than a radio station: it's acted as hub for a thriving creative community, drawing together like-minded people unwilling to compromise on the music they want to hear, make and dance to. In the process it's nurtured some of the most remarkable forms of music to emerge from London - jungle to UK garage, dubstep, grime and beyond - as well as some of the most iconic stars of the last decade: Wiley, Dizzee Rascal, Skream, Katy B.
So we're celebrating our 18th birthday in style on 29th September, taking over Brixton Academy for a massive rave drawing together Rinse FM's past, present and future. The night will feature a selection of Rinse's DJs playing the genres that have defined the station over the years of its existence, alongside special guests Modeselektor, A-Trak and Claude Von Stroke. Come and join us in celebrating 18 years at the forefront of boundary-pushing and bass-heavy music in London, and looking forward to many more.
