Merthyr Rock are proud to announce the full line for one of the last alternative festivals of the Summer with the additions of Sonic Boom Six and Rise To Remain on the Saturday night.
Watch // Sonic Boom Six // Sound of Revolution
Independently run and with a huge community focus, the festival is situated in the beautiful historic Cyfarthfa Park, a public, Grade II space in the heart of Merthyr. This boutique festival brings a mix of indie and rock bands, both home-grown talent and further afield.
Watch // Rise To Remain // Talking in Whispers
The second stage has been named after James McLaren, the BBC reporter who tragically died earlier this month. Promoter Rhodri says “James was a good friend and a true champion of welsh music. We wanted to give a fitting tribute to a great man and we thought this would be the best way to do it. James was all about new music and supporting emerging acts, and this year the stage was curated by lostprophets and the blackout - two bands he saw had potential for greatness in the very early stages. James was a great supporter of the festival in it's first year, for which we are very grateful, and we hope this is a good way to celebrate the life of someone who really made a big difference to so many people in the local scene”
