Celebrated songwriter, gifted vocalist, and performer extraordinaire LP has posted the second video in her live solo performance series called The Ukulele Sessions, which feature the L.A.-based artist covering her favorite songs on ukulele and are filmed at various locations in a completely raw setting. The second video is a performance of 'The Widow' by The Mars Volta from their second album, Frances The Mute.
This haunting performance was filmed in a bat cave in Los Angeles's Griffith Park by director Claire Marie Vogel (Tegan and Sara, The Belle Brigade, etc.). Vogel has also directed several other live performance pieces for LP, including her Ukulele Sessions #1. The next in the ongoing series will be released in the near future.
Having released her debut EP for Warner Bros Records, a CD + DVD package titled Into The Wild: Live At EastWest Studios, in April LP has been attracting fervent attention for her emotionally riveting live performances. She recently appeared at Lollapalooza in Chicago and Summer Sonic in Japan where she drew rave reviews and won the hearts of all who attended.
