Tristan Prettyman’s new album, Cedar + Gold, will be shifting release dates and is now due out October 2nd on Capitol Records. “Breakup plus love lost equals a glorious lady-centric record,” observed Marie Claire while PEOPLE Style Watch praised the album’s “soulful, shimmering songs.” “Her music is both pop and folk, with flecks of Bonnie Raitt, and reflects the influence of artists like Ani DiFranco and Joni Mitchell,” noted The Wall Street Journal.


The California singer-songwriter has already licensed a new song from the album to appear on the season premiere of “Grey’s Anatomy” September 27th.

“My Oh My,” the album’s first single, is a Top 20 hit at Triple A radio and is quickly climbing the Hot AC chart. The song is a bonus track on the best-selling multi-artist album series NOW That’s What I Call Music! Vol. 43. Fans can see Prettyman performing “My Oh My” on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” at The Tonight Show with Jay Leno - Wednesday, August 29, 2012 - Video - NBC.com.

Elle.com recently premiered Prettyman’s acoustic version of “My Oh My,” recorded in the historic Capitol Studios as part of the [url=http://www.elle.com/news/culture/tristan-prettyman-new-song?click=news]“1 Mic 1 Take” series[url].

Prettyman, who recently wrapped up a run with Joshua Radin, will announce a fall tour shortly. She will play a series of radio shows this month:
  • 9/8 San Diego, CA – KPRI Block Party
  • 9/29 Las Vegas, NV – KMXB Bite of Las Vegas Show
  • 9/30 San Francisco – KLLC Now & Zen Festival – Free show
Cedar + Gold follows 2008’s Hello, which peaked at No. 2 on the iTunes Digital Albums chart and led to headlining tours across the U.S., Europe and Japan. Produced by Greg Wells (Adele, Katy Perry), Cedar + Gold marks Prettyman’s return to recording after a four-year break during which she traveled the globe, had vocal cord surgery, ended an engagement, and questioned whether she even wanted to be a musician at all. Cedar + Gold is an album that manages to be deeply personal yet highly relatable to anyone who’s had the ground collapse under them and fought their way back to healing. “It’s actually a very hopeful album in a lot of ways, which I think is a common theme in all my records,” says Prettyman.
