'Good Year' is the second outing from Londoner Allman Brown, the man slowly but surely carving his own significant mark on the music industry.
In a few short years, Allman Brown has gone from sneaking in to gigs at the Royal Albert Hall where he worked as a barman, to gigging himself all over London’s live circuit and even landing himself spots in the acoustic clubs of Paris and New York.
WATCH // Allman Brown - Good Year
The hit-making producer duo of Paul Herman (Emelie Sande, Dido) and James Bryan (Nelly Furtado) took him under their wing(s) at their resident KensalTown Studios and helped Allman Brown to develop his distinct, soulful independent sound.
In Allman Brown’s trademark smooth-yet-slightly-deviant manner, Good Year speaks of a fleeting encounter – meeting a ‘hot body’ in a nightclub, but after the ensuing fateful one night stand, realising that person might just be a little bit special. Hence – “It’s been a Good Year”.
In his own words: "Good Year is unashamedly a love song, a celebration. Also, I wanted to write something relatively happy for once."
