Following the huge success of his first One More Tune / Warner Bros. Records single ‘Heatwave’ which spent two weeks at #1 and has sold almost 350,000 copies in just five weeks, the godfather of grime Wiley looks set to build upon his current upward momentum by releasing the follow-up ‘Can You Hear Me? (ayayaya)’ on October 28th.

Wiley has again called upon the skills of ‘Heatwave’ producer Rhymez (Wretch 32, Tinie Tempah) and guest vocalist Ms. D for ‘Can You Hear Me?’ who provides another irrestible pop hook that perfectly complements Wiley’s unique flow. ‘Can You Hear Me?’ is also boosted by scintillating guest appearances from brothers and Boy Better Know founders Skepta and JME.

The release of ‘Can You Hear Me?’ follows hot on the news that Wiley has received two nominations at the 2012 Mobo Awards in which he is in contention for Best UK Male (alongside the likes of Professor Green, Plan B and Ed Sheeran) and Best Hip-Hop/Grime (which also features Wretch 32 and Devlin). The winners will be announced at the award ceremony which will be held at Liverpool’s Echo Arena on Saturday, November 3rd.

While Wiley has always demonstrated an ability to mainstream-infiltrating tracks that maintain his longstanding underground credibility with singles as ‘Wearing My Rolex’ (#2), ‘Never Be Your Woman’ (#8), ‘Cash In My Pocket’ (#19) and ‘Take That’ (#20), the combination of ‘Heatwave’ and ‘Can You Hear Me?’ looks set to provide him with two huge consecutive crossover hits for the first time in his highly influential career. Wiley’s recent high profile has continued with major festival sets at V and Bestival, and he also features prominently in a new Radio 1 TV advert alongside the likes of Cheryl Cole, Rita Ora and One Direction’s Harry Styles.

Although recent months have seen his profile grow bigger than ever before, Wiley has continued to feed fresh cuts to the underground with his Steps Freestyle series. Having started the series earlier this summer, Wiley has now delivered fifteen separate free download tracks with production credits including Preditah, Darq E Freaker and Danny Yen.

Wiley remains one of the biggest characters and wildest talents in British music. Whether helping younger artists break through, offloading hundreds of unreleased tracks on Twitter, or doling out private insights on the web, he is always forging ahead and breaking the mould.
