Big Boi releases the first of two singles produced by The Flush that will appear on his forthcoming Vicious Lies & Dangerous Rumors album entitled “Mama Told Me” ft. Kelly Rowland. The track caught its first wave of widespread notoriety in August when a live performance video presented by vitaminwater & the Fader Uncapped Series lit up the Internet showcasing Big Boi and the revered Swedish indie-band Little Dragon performing the instantly acclaimed song.
"The track for ‘Mama Told Me’ was inspired by the movie Purple Rain. As soon as Big Boi heard it we all knew that it was gonna be a hit,” The Flush member Jeron Ward said. “We strive to stay ahead of the curve musically as producers and provide the world with the unexpected. We want our music to speak fans who actually appreciate the true artistry of music-making. We do this for those who love the beauty of music just as much as we do.”
Yesterday’s premiere of “Mama Told Me” marks the start of back-to-back announcements and new releases by the Grammy-nominated producers who will finish out 2012 on the heels of the Big Boi release, a concurrent joint EP with Spree Wilson, the second installment of Stankonia Sessions: "A3C Edition" Vol 2 and the upcoming drop of “Computer Screen” featuring Phantogram from Big Boi’s anticipated solo, sophomore album.
