Following on from releasing ‘Railroad Track’ on Jack White’s Third Man Records, Willy Moon has joined the rarified ranks of Bob Dylan, U2, The Beatles, Coldplay, Eminem in sound tracking the global ad campaign for the launch of Apple’s new iPod.

The TV advertisement featuring Willy’s ‘Yeah Yeah’ is due to be shown in over 30 countries, reaching a global audience in the billions.

Watch the Apple iPod advert HERE:

23-year-old Kiwi Willy, who broke through earlier this year with ‘I Wanna Be Your Man’, writes, records and (mostly) produces everything on his own. He keeps everything short. Nothing grazes the three minute mark. Inspired equally by love of the physical energy of Cab Calloway, the brevity of The Ramones, and the style of film noir, Willy doesn't blend different sounds so much as smash them together--as if rock 'n' roll was deep-frozen in 1965, and abruptly reanimated 45 years later by a laptop hip hop producer.

'Yeah Yeah’ impacts on 26th November, but is available to download now. The video is being shot by legendary director Alex Cortes (known for White Stripes’ ‘Seven Nation Army’, and Justice’s ‘On & On’ videos). Willy Moon will be dressed by Hedi Slimane at Saint Laurent in his first collection for the fashion house.

Willy Moon performs on Later With Jools Holland on October 16th.

Willy will be supporting Jack White on his upcoming UK tour:
  • 31/10 - O2 Arena - Dublin
  • 02/11 - Alexandra Palace - London
  • 04/11 - Bridlington Spa Theatre & Royal Hall - Bridlington
  • 06/11 - Blackpool Empress Ballroom Arena - Blackpool
  • 07/11 - O2 Acadamy - Birmingham
  • 08/11 - Usher Hall - Edinburgh
