Novella are Sophy, Suki and Hollie. Iain plays the drums. After releasing their debut EP in May this year, the band have returned with the compellingly ominous, ‘Mary’s Gun’. The single will be released on 7” single via Italian Beach Babes on 26th November, and was recorded by Jerome Watson (The History of Apple Pie) and Joshua Third (The Horrors) in The Horrors’ studio.

Having toured with Veronica Falls and Dum Dum Girls and played Camden Crawl and Great Escape this year, the band took some time out over the summer to hide in their rehearsal room and work on new material. They have surfaced with a whole new set of songs that are a truer reflection of their combined influences – Stereolab, Velvet Underground and My Bloody Valentine, exploring psychedelic- inspired riffs and electronic drones, new sounds and new equipment.

‘Mary’s Gun’ is a song about Mary Weiss, the lead vocalist in The Shangri-Las about a story about her supposedly getting in trouble with the FBI for carrying a gun around with her for protection after someone tried to break into her hotel room.
