Tiny Lights Recordings are to release a charity Christmas record, in aid of charity Smile For Life. Silent Night, Tiny Lights will feature tracks from bands on Tiny Lights' blossoming roster, as well as contributions from the top bands from around the country. 100% of proceeds will go to Smile For Life, a North East based charity 'dedicated to enhancing and enriching the lives of children'.
To be released November 26th, 2012, The record will feature new songs by a plethora of fantastic acts, as well as a few festive classics thrown in for good measure. Tiny Lights' head honcho Paul Brown said; 'We're really proud to be working in aid of Smile For Life because they're a wonderful charity who do amazing work for children in our region and beyond. It's sometimes easy to forget that not everyone always has a great time at Christmas, and we're extremely grateful for the help of the wonderful musicians who are donating their time and their talent to the project to try and help some children enjoy their lives a little more'.
Smile For Life had this to say on the project; “Smile For Life is delighted that Tiny Lights are supporting our work through their Christmas Record. It is wonderful to see so many North East artists coming together to raise funds for and awareness of our work with disabled and disadvantaged youngsters in our community. Smile For Life is dedicated to enriching the lives of children across the North East and the support we hope to receive from the album, ‘Silent Night, Tiny Lights’ will enable us to reach even more children during the festive season. We would like to thank everyone involved in the making of this record for giving their time and skills so generously.”
Bands confirmed for the album include Playlounge, Fawn Spots, The Union Choir, Tissue Culture, The Railway Club, John Egdell, The Lake Poets and Natasha Haws. The record's release will be celebrated with an all-day launch party, Nothing Like Christmas 2, held at Cluny2 on Saturday December 8th. It follows last year's hugely successful Nothing Like Christmas party, which featured Fantasy Rainbow, Brilliant Mind and Tissue Culture. As per the record, every penny of the proceeds from the gig will go to Smile For Life. Confirmed acts so far include The Union Choir, GUM, Collider and Fawn Spots.
