More than four years in the making, the Natura Cinematica project combines stunning visuals with a soaring jazz/electronica soundtrack to create a multi-media music experience for 2012 and the debut album The Man Who Knew Too Much.
The music, initially designed as a mythical movie score, is a collection of brooding, slow-burning tracks which take in diverse influences before building to an unexpected finale, as this movie-of-the-mind might do.
From obvious cinematic jazz references, through chamber-like woodwind minimalism, to darker electronic reverbs and delays, the Natura Cinematica band builds an atmospheric and emotion-packed set, almost entirely improvised by some of the UK's brightest jazz talent including saxophonist Andy Brush and guitarist Dan Compton.
