This week Doldrums releases his stellar debut album Lesser Evil through Berlin label Souterrain Transmissions (Europe) & Arbutus (North America). To accompany it he has uploaded a full stream of the record as well as a remix, both musical and visual, of his recent single ‘She is the Wave’.
Lesser Evil is an album whose sound is largely influenced by the transient lifestyle of it’s creator, Airick Woodhead, drawing equal parts from European clubs and the noise music communities in Montreal, Toronto, New York and Baltimore.
One of the stand out tracks from the album is undoubtedly ‘She is the Wave’, combining Woodhead’s instinct for an unpredictable yet bewitching melody with boundless energy & exhuberance.
Now both the track and it’s accompanying video have been remixed, with BRTHR attacking the vocals and Emily Kai Block reworking the video.
Doldrums is now getting ready to head off on tour with Crystal Castles in North America, but will return to UK shores again soon.
