Kanye West kinda bothers me...but I think he's right on this one. I mean, I don't think Bush HATES black people...not nearly as much as he hates 'the gay'...I think he just doesn't care, quite honestly.
Remember, he's Republican. So he is of the belief that most Black people are on welfare..and they're on welfare because they're lazy and just don't want to get jobs and make a better life for themselves. He thinks by allowing them to get welfare, he's already helping them more than he should.
Anyone who has ever been in that situation can say quickly and without hesitation that is absolutely NOT true. Welfare is not needed out of laziness. You know, they want these people to work so bad, but outsource all big business overseas. There aren't any jobs for these people to work. Let's say a spot finally opens up at McDonalds, and they get a job there. Making min wage puts you at the poverty line and they would still be eligible for welfare....even working a full time job at minimum wage. That is, until they reject it because they feel you don't need it anymore.
This subject makes me so ridiculously angry. The local government is just as corrupt as the state and federal governments. It's no surprise they did nothing more than warn the people with money that they should hop in their SUVs and take off...or go buy a plane ticket and fly out to see family. Forget about all the people that have no family outside of the area, no car to get out, no money for a plane ticket. Fuck those guys, right? I mean, it's their own fault they couldn't escape the hurricane...that's what they get for being poor. That'll show 'em.

And this argument about how the Hurricane was punishment for Gay Civil Rights???? Are you kidding me??????????? Yes a Hurricane is technically an 'act of God' but if Jesus is trying to kill the gays, why would he go to the deep south full of red states? Why wouldn't he destroy a place that is bustling with homos? And have any of them ever stopped to think that Hurricanes don't happen as punishment for trivial things like that? Maybe...its....I dunno...NATURE. Maybe..just possibly.. Hurricanes and other natural disasters are happening with more severity and frequency and because we have fucked this planet up so bad it's just giving up on us? Let's think about what God really destroyed here, aside from the homes and lives of countless people... The US gets 1/5 of their oil from New Orleans. Weird? Why doesn't anyone think God was doing something about THAT? Teaching us a lesson about our oil consumption? That seems incredibly more likely than God leveling a huge city because some dude likes to take it in the butt.
Stupid fucking people. All this shit coming from the White House and all their little minions just makes me ill. I could put up with their ignorant statements about Iraq and Afghanistan...I knew it was wrong, but hoped 'maybe something good will come from this.' The statements they are making about their own citizens in a time of tragedy is reserving their presidential suite in the Hell they won't shut up about. It's ignorance and politics and religion in a time when none of those things are really needed.
And also, I think if they actually went to NEW ORLEANS they would find that city to be filled with incredibly faithful people. When you are that poor and everyone has abandoned you, there's really only one place you can turn to...and that's to God. The fact that these fat white guys think they are 'better Christians' and have 'moral authority' is ludicrous. They have never NEEDED God...they only use him to push their personal agenda. It's a fucking disgrace. I am not a Christian and I am fuckin ASHAMED, you know? If there is a God lookin down on all this, I don't think he's going with the 'Religious Right' on this one.
Ugh...I could go on about this, but I'll stop it there. I have been fuming since this happened...rarr
