<a href="http://www.brandnewrock.com/">Brand New</a> has entered the studio in Oxford, Missisippi to begin work on their upcoming debut for Universal.
The band <a href="article.php?sid=7001">si gned</a> to Dreamworks in 2003, and that label was bought out by Universal <a href="http://www.punknews.org/article.php?sid=7474">shortly thereafter</a>. The signing came shortly after the release of their album, <a href="reviews.php?op=albumrevi ew&id=2020"><i>Deja Entendu</i></a>.

The band will be recording at the <a href="http://www.sweettea.net/">Sweet Tea</a> studio with producer Dennis Herring. The band promises to document the process with a studio journal which will presumably appear on their website.

Other than "<i>a show or two</i>" in Oxford, the band has no touring plans for the next few months and plans to work on the record for a 2006 release.
