Ringo Starr's son Zak Starkey has been asked to join Oasis on a permanent basis after drumming for the band on their recent world tour.
Starkey has been working with the Gallaghers since Alan White left the band in 2004, but has not been confirmed as a full-time member of Oasis because of his other commitments.
Starkey is set to go on a huge tour with The Who later in the year before starting work on the next Oasis album and Noel Gallagher hopes to sign him up as a full-time band-member after being impressed by his efforts.
Gallagher said: "He's definitely, definitely, definitely going to record on the next record and definitely going to be out on the road, if he wants to.
"We always said that we'd sit down and talk about that at the end of the tour. There's no point in getting in business discussions while you're soundchecking."
