Cancer Bats Sign To Abacus Recordings

Los Angeles, CA- June, 29, 2006 – Fueled by a burning desire to rage harder, play louder and have more fun than any other band, Cancer Bats mix hardcore, southern metal and punk rock into a lethal rock and roll explosion that has already made them internationally loved.
Proudly Canadian, the Cancer Bats formed in Toronto in 2004 and have since exploded, constantly on MTV Canada, MuchMusic's “It List”and praised in magazines across the globe such as Big Cheese (who named them one of the hottest bands of 2006), Metal Hammer, Chart Magazine, Exclaim and more.
With the hellacious buzz about the Bats fueling around the planet; the band is preparing to release a much anticipated debut album in the United States and have decided upon Abacus Recordings (home of Sick of It All, Ignite, Planes Mistaken For Stars) as their state-side home.
"We are soooo ****in stoked to be working with some seriously rad bros and broskettes at Abacus.” says vocalist Liam Cormier, “Great peeps, great bands...we have the same feeling as Indiana Jones felt in 'Raiders Of The Lost Ark' when all those Nazis were killed by the ghosts in the Ark of the Covenant, but they didn't kill him...totally feels like that. But seriously, how good was that movie?"
Their album “Birthing The Giant” is produced by award winning Canadian producer Gavin Brown (Three Days Grace, Billy Talent) and will hit stores September 5th!
