Enter Shikari formed while still in school in 2003. As soon as the summer came around, they climbed in the van and hit the road. They’ve pretty much never come home since.
Nearly three years of constant touring has turned Enter Shikari into one of the most exciting, brutal and explosive live bands on Britain’s screamo / post-hardcore ‘scene’ and has placed them in the position of being arguably the biggest unsigned band in the UK.
A tent-lifting appearance at 2006’s Download festival saw Enter Shikari step it up a gear, playing to their largest crowd so far an a rammed-to-the-rafters Gibson / MySpace stage.
Despite attracting attention from several major and large indie labels, Enter Shikari have chosen – for the time being – to release their music on their own label, Ambush Reality, which the band run and co-own with their management.
‘Mothership’ is Enter Shikari and Ambush Reality’s first release.
It was recorded in Newcastle with Justin Lockey of Your Code Name Is: Milo, and mixed in London by Pedro Ferreira (The Darkness, Therapy?).
‘Mothership’ is released on August 27th as a download only single.
(A full-blown single - physical formats and everything. the whole shebang - entitled ‘Ok, Time For Plan B’ will be unleashed upon the world in October 2006, but let us not get ahead of ourselves just now).
