Indie HQ recently spoke to Tim Hinsley, the president and COO of Lumberjack/Mordam. The company is the largest independent distributor and handles releases for dozens of labels including Alternative Tentacles, Doghouse Records, Thorp and many others and as a result, the distributor has a massive influence over the independent music scene. The interview talks about some interesting and controversial subjects including the percieved decreased sales since the merger, the role of "mom-and-"pop" indie stores, list prices for independent albums and the future of the music industry.
