Watch out for Locksley’s “Why Can’t I Be You (Why Not You)” video in rotation on MTV. “Why Can’t I Be You” recently won big after scoring the #1 position on The Freshmen, a weekly MTVu program dedicated to highlighting videos by promising new bands bubbling up on the college scene and letting viewers vote their favorites into rotation on 750 college campuses and to 7 million student viewers across the U.S. as well as rotation on the mega-channel MTV and MTV.com. And they were the first unsigned band to do it.

Jess Laz (vocals, guitar), Kai Kennedy (guitar, vocals), Aaron Collins (bass, vocals) and Sam Bair (drums) make up a band that has the energy and determination of the most staunch underground group and the talent and proficiency of a world class rock act. With two U.S. and one U.K. tour under their belts, Locksley have performed on the BBC and opened for the likes of OkGo, We Are Scientists, She Wants Revenge, John Vanderslice, and the Dandy Warhols.
