The Militia Group has announced the signing of 18 year-old singer-songwriter Ronnie Day. Day previously released his debut, simply titled The Album independently.The label will begin by providing a wide release for the record on November 14th. Currents which is made up for former members of Salem have announced their signing to Textbook Music.The label will be releasing their EP, Happily Divided in January of 2007 and the disc will include five songs, three videos as well as "making of" footage of both the EP and the videos. The videos will be for the songs "You Are the Bridge", "Happily Departed" (directed by Chris at ifocusfilms // ifocusfilms.net) and "Twilight" (directed by Mike D at MD Films) The EP was recorded at Skylab Studios in Gainesville, FL with Gerry King and Kevin Terry.You can check out a new track from the EP on the band's myspace page.The new lineup includes all the members of Salem except for vocalist Adam D'Zurilla. Drummer Dave Miller has taken over vocal duties in the new band. The band also includes former members of As Friends Rust who went on to form Salem after that band split in 2002.
TKO has announced the signing of legendary punk/hardcore act Poison Idea. The hugely influential "kings of punk" recently celebrated their 25th anniversary together and will make their debut with a split picture disc alongside Kill Your Idols.Poison Idea will be contributing a new track while KYI will produce a cover of Poison Idea's classic "Made to be Broken." In early 2007 the label will release Poison Idea's new full length Latest Will & Testament (previously released in Germany on Farewell Records). The record features the final recordings of late guitarist Tom "Pig Champion" Roberts, who passed away earlier this year. A DVD and other projects are in the works, with support from planned North American and European tours. The label commented "In their 25+ years POISON IDEA has influenced more Punk/HC bands around the world than it would be possible to list, including many TKO acts, and all of us at the labels are life-long fans. The Exploders are signed to Rubber / EMI for Australia but are available for the rest of the world. They are currently recording the second album in Dallas Texas with producer Stuart Sikes (Modest Mouse, Cat Power, The White Stripes) and will be performing Sept 18 @ Piano’s and Sept 19 @ the Knitting factory.

With the recent release of “The Crucial EP” and a knack for making live shows a forum for intricate, dynamic guitars that crescendo over a boundless rhythm section and undeniable melodies, Look Mexico is a band that commands both edge-of-your-seat attentiveness and crowd participation. In other words, these boys have a lot of fun. Still, it’s their proclivity for exploring new sounds and keeping things fresh that make them so exciting.The band is set to record their full-length debut next month.
