Crime finishing up "Exalted Bastards" LP

San Francisco pioneers Crime have recorded their first proper LP, titled Exalted Bastards. The band's classic LP San Francisco's Doomed was taken from two different rehearsal tapes from the late 70s, Exalted Bastards will mark the first time an album worth of Crime material has been recorded in a studio setting. Ten of the twelve tracks for the record were penned by Johnny Strike for Crime decades ago, but were never recorded. The album features a line up of Johnny Strike on vocals and rhythm guitar, and Hank Rank on drums. The band features "new blood" via guitarist Count Fink and bassist Mickey Tractor. John Reis of Swami Records / Rocket From The Crypt has worked with the band recording and mixing the material. His label is expected to release the album next year. Crime famously proclaiming themselves "San Francisco's first and only rock n roll band." They were the first punk band on the US west coast to release their own record with the "Hot Wire My Heart" / "Baby, You're So Repulsive" single in 1976.
