The venerable Lollapalooza series of festivals has confirmed that it will be continuing until at least 2011 at Grant Park in Chicago, IL. The organizers posted the announcement confirming that the next iteration will take place from August 3rd to August 5th, 2007.The 2006 edition of the tour featured Sparta, the Smoking Popes, Subways, New Amsterdams, Mates of State, Hold Steady, Cursive, Revered Horton Heat, the New Pornographers, Broken Social Scene, The M's, Jeremy Enigk (ex-Sunny Day Real Estate), Ween and Sonic YouthWhile originally formed as a touring festival - and one that enabled at least one Punknews.org editor to see the Ramones - the event has established itself as a Chicago-only event for the past few years.
