Paul Weller (The Jam) plans box set, three night stay in New York's Irving Plaza

 
Paul Weller will be releasing a career spanning box set on January 23rd titled Hit Parade. The Yep Roc box set will include material from his Jam and Style Council days, as well as from his recent years as a solo artist. The release will coincide with a full-length BBC documentary, and Hit includes seminal Jam anthems like "Town Called Malice", "Going Underground", "Eton Rifles" and "Down In The Tube Station", along with Style Council selections "Shout To The Top!" and "You're The Best Thing."To celebrate the release, and the 30th anniversary of The Jam's debut, In The City, Weller will be performing from January 29th to the 31st at New York's Irving Plaza, with the shows divided thematically.Although each show will include music from his entire career, the first night will focus on the music of the Jam, while the second will feature the music of the Style Council. The third gig will cherry-pick from throughout Weller's discography. Tickets go on sale FridayThough Jam selections will be represented, just last year Weller firmly ruled out a reunion saying:
That would never happen. Why would I want to go back? For nostalgic reasons? That's never good enough. My philosophy is to embrace the new day and get on with it. If The Jam reformed now it'd just be a sad cabaret and that's not what I'm about at all.
