Epitaph has announced plans to distribute the new record from Edmonton, Alberta-based hip hop artist Cadence Weapon. Cadence Weapon released his full length debut, Breaking Kayfabe via Upper Class Recordings in Canada, and has since been nominated for he Polaris Music Prize, Canadian Indie Awards and won of a CBC Radio 3 Bucky Award.The record promises "clever writing and impressive rhymes, paired with the electro-tones of UK grime and West Coast hip-hop. " Epitaph and Upper Class have joined forces to release “Breaking Kayfabe” in the United States on March 13th, 2007 to coincide with Cadence Weapon’s appearance at the South By South West Music Festival in Austin, Texas March 14th – 18th. A sophomore full length is expected in the fall.
