The Good, The Bad and The Queen (ex-Blur, Clash) to perform at Hammersmith Palais clo

The Good, the Bad and the Queen have been confirmed as the last act to ever perform at the legendary Hammersmith Palais de Danse,.The popular English club, was recently condemned for destruction, where apparently a new office building will be built in it's place. The venue was immortalized in the Clash classic, "(White Man) In Hammersmith Palais", a reference to the days when reggae performances were popular at the establishment, and is heralded by many fans as one of their band's more mature and stylistic tracks. The song was later covered for a Clash tribute album by pop/rock/reggae-influenced group 311.

It seems appropriate that former Clash bassist Paul Simonon will be returning for the final show at a venue he helped to immortalize. Tickets for the final show go on sale this Friday and you will be able to buy them here. The Good, The Bad and the Queen features Simonon, as well as Damon Albarn (Blur, Gorillaz), afrobeat pioneer Tony Allen, Simon Tong (The Verve) and producer Dangermouse (Gnarls Barkley, Gorillaz).
