Previous chapters of THE EMO DIARIES have featured now well-known bands such as Jimmy Eat World, Samiam, The Appleseed Cast, Planes Mistaken For Stars, Penfold, Brandtson, Sweep The Leg Johnny and Jazz June. More importantly, THE EMO DIARIES has been a launching pad for many previously unknown bands such as Further Seems Forever (featuring Chris Carrabba of Dashboard Confessional), The Movielife, Reubens Accomplice, Slow Coming Day, Down To Earth Approach and Free Diamonds.
This chapter will contains 12 unreleased songs from the hottest bands in the scene. Submission is open to ANY independent BAND, signed or unsigned, throughout the world. All decisions made are based upon the SONG, not the band. It's the music that matters. ONLY previously UNRELEASED songs are eligible. "UNRELEASED" means the song is currently Not Available and / or For Sale on any medium or format (CD, MP3, promos, myspace or other downloads, sampler, etc.) from you, a label or anyone else.The more unreleased songs you send, the better chance a band has of being selected. Please tell your favorite bands to submit. Submissions can be sent anytime - there are no deadlines. New chapters will be released on a rolling basis...meaning when we have enough songs that we like, a new chapter will be released. Deep Elm receives well over 500 song submissions for each chapter. We listen to EVERYTHING we receive, but due to the number of submissions it is impossible to respond to bands who have not been selected.
All you need to send is a CD with the BAND NAME, PHONE and E-MAIL directly written on the face of the CD. If the CD had artwork on it, use a label, white sticker or piece of making tape. If you do not write the BAND NAME, PHONE and E-MAIL directly onto the CD / CDR, it will be discarded. If you do not follow these instructions and /or you send a shrink-wrapped CD, your submission will be discarded. If we are interested in your music, WE will be in contact with you. PLEASE do not call, e-mail or contact us. Assume we received your package if it has not been returned to you in the mail, as we cannot track unsolicited packages. Sorry, packages cannot be returned and we do not comment on music that we pass on. Important Note: Upcoming podcasts will include a listing of bands that submitted music as well as clips of their music. By submitting music, you hereby allow Deep Elm Records to mention the name of your band as well as include your music on our podcast.
