Today is the release date for the first single from the new album, It's the Beat. We recorded it a while ago with Ninja from the Go Team on vocals. She's on another track on the album too called Hot Dog. If you've seen an SMD DJ set recently you'll have probably heard It's the Beat in one form or another. Luke Vibert and Graham Massey (from 808 State!) have been on the old school remix tip as well as top notch work from Riton and Siriusmo. Seriously check out Graham's Epic 15 minute remix - it's genius and bonkers in equal measure.
We've been really busy lately getting things ready for the release of our debut album Attack Decay Sustain Release which comes out on Wichita Recordings on 4th June. The album itself was written and recorded over the last year in our East London studio. We mixed it onto tape in four days on a lovely vintage Trident mixing desk so it sounds great.
As well as finishing the album we just got back from a trip to the USA. It's always a pleasure to DJ parties that our friends throw in New York and Philly. If you're ever over there seek out Fixed and Making Time - great nights. We managed to squeeze in a trip to Texas for SXSW which was fun - we ate a lot of BBQ - and we also got stranded in Mexico City for a while after a DJ gig there. No wonder the opening track on the album is called Sleep Deprivation. You can hear that track on our new website which went live today - you can check it out by clicking here:

The other major thing we're up to right now is preparing our live show. We've never played live as SMD before so we're super excited about this. We'll be taking as much of our studio on stage as possible and playing old vintage synths. Should be interesting. The full list of tour dates are on our website and MySpace pages.
