We just got off a conference call with Santa Claus and baby Jesus... they told us they'd like to hear some new Christmas songs this year. So we're down in a muggy 98 degree Nashville, tracking songs about sleigh rides, stockings full of coal, and hot chocolate (which is also muggy... haha... what a terrible joke). We're going to track about 7 new songs to tack onto our existing "Deck The Halls, Bruise Your Hand". It should release Octoberish. Anyway, we're having a holly jolly time of it, and we hope that the end result will provide you with an ample amount of holiday cheer when the appropriate season rolls around. Matty T.

I start with Relient K in August adding some more songs to the Christmas album for eventual release. I would imagine the album would change and some things would get dropped, but since it was never released and just packaged as a bonus CD, anything is fair game.

I'm back in the studio with Relient K, which is always a pleasure. We are working on some new songs to complete a Christmas record we had started a few years ago that has never been officially released. I guess now with the new songs, Capitol will make it official, as it will be a significant upgrade with many new songs and a new mastering of the record by Ted Jensen at Sterling Sound, NYC. Things are going well and we should be done tracking by the end of the week. It's funny because we have progressed so much (they as a band and I as a engineer/producer) since we started this thing years ago, that it will be an interesting listen and a bit of a challenge for Ted to glue it together. At the least, it will be a good holiday listening with all the different aspects of Relient K thrown in for good measure. I would imagine the album will get a new title as well since so much material is being added and changed. Anyway, a fun time should be had by all.

The Relient K Christmas stuff is recorded and going to mix this week, so I have been busy editing and sending songs to JR McNeely to mix. I basically go through each song and get rid of noises, hums and buzzes, coughs, rattles, and whatever else has nothing to do with the music and then send it to mix. I think the album comes out in late October or early November, but don't quote me on that. It will be out way before Christmas, so that's the main thing
