
- Six recordings from the Monterey Jazz Festival will be re-released on August 21st to commemorate the event’s fiftieth anniversary, with more releases to follow next year. The first batch includes Louis Armstrong’s 1958 opening-night performance and a “Live at the Monterey Jazz Festival” compilation.
- The Osmond Brothers, plus siblings Donny (a onetime Rolling Stone heartthrob), Marie and Jimmy taped a fiftieth-reunion special for PBS to be aired next year; it’s the first time the full family has gathered to sing in at least twenty years.
- Pearl Jam will release Immagine In Cornice, a DVD of footage from five of the band’s 2006 Italian concerts, on September 25th. Director Danny Clinch promises “a look at Pearl Jam that no one has seen yet” featuring behind-the-scenes interviews and a peek at their life on the road, in addition to live performances.
