August 16, 2007 -- Boston’s own The Receiving End of Sirens have made their debut on the Billboard Charts, with the release of their new album, The Earth Sings Mi Fa Mi. Produced by Matt Squire (Panic! At The Disco, Boys Like Girls), the album is the bands most dynamic and skillful work to date, and has charted the band at the # 3 and #130 spots on Billboard’s Heatseekers and Top 200 Charts, respectively.
Brought to life through powerful guitars, commanding drums, and soaring melodies, The Earth Sings Mi Fa Mi, takes listeners on a journey of spiritual and self-realization, which are explored and discovered through music and narrative. “I think our fans are going to connect on a more personal level to these songs. They encompass an emotional journey that they will truly be able to relate to”, says Brendan Brown, Vocalist, Bassist and Lyricists for the band.
With the release of Mi Fa Mi, The Receiving End of Sirens have expanded their sound and fully realized the electronic elements and dynamic vocal melodies that are inherent in their music. In the two years since the release of their acclaimed debut album Between the Heart and the Synapse, TREOS have truly matured as composers, musicians and lyricists to create The Earth Sings Mi Fa Mi. Says Andrew Cook, Drummer for the band, “We had a few years to figure it out, when it came time to write this record, we felt prepared and confident in what we are doing - and we hope that shows.”
“Smoke and Mirrors”, the albums first focus track, meets the listener half way through the journey of The Earth Sings Mi Fa Mi and will be the first video from the new album. Directed by Sean Wainsteim (Tokyo Police Club, The Dears), “Smoke and Mirrors” brings to life the story of young girl lulled by the darkly seductive nature of mysterious dancing animals. Throughout the video she fights her urge to join these animals, while continuing to express her own unique inner passions. Drawing the dancers down deeper through a decrepit house, The Receiving End of Sirens perform and influence the intensity of the violent balletic choreography through the heaves and flows within this fierce and stunning track.
