  • Police raided DMX’s Arizona home Friday to investigate possible animal-cruelty allegations and found twelve pit bulls that require vet attention, as well as the buried bodies of three dogs, a “suspected illegal narcotic” and an assortment of firearms. No arrests were made and the investigation is ongoing. DMX was not home at the time, and his attorney says he had not been on the premises in two months and was dismayed to learn of the conditions there.
  • The Cure has postponed their upcoming fall tour until next spring. A note on their official site explains, “the schedule as it stands only gives us a couple of weeks to finish our new double album before we hit the road again, and we know this just isn't enough time to complete the project to our total satisfaction.” The band promises the rescheduled outing will include an updated live show, as well as new material.
  • “This Is Why I’m Hot” MC Mims has accused Kanye West of biting his style, namely the idea of speeding up sampled tracks. “I recorded my album five years ago, so I did it first,” Mims dubiously claims to Contact Music.
  • High School Musical 2 and Justin Timberlake were big winners at last night’s Teen Choice Awards. HSM2 was awarded best TV movie, and leads Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens walked away with Choice Male Hottie and Choice Music Breakout Artist, respectively. Timberlake nabbed several awards, including the equivalent to a lifetime achievement award, the Ultimate Choice title.
  • During their headlining set at this weekend’s Reading festival, Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan called out a scantily clad girl in the crowd, adding “American girls are sluts, too.”
