Thrice recently spoke to the LA Times about their upcoming two albums and four EPs. The record is titled The Alchemy Index: Volumes 1 & 2 and is due out October 16, 2007. Frontman Dustin Kensrue noted:

I don't know why anyone would want to listen to a band playing the same thing, album after album, Being in a band is like being in a marriage, you have to work at it to keep it up.

According to the story, the album will include "skittish electronics, bludgeoning rock riffs and acoustic musings similar to Kensrue's recent solo album." As to their major label experiences, Thrice notes that they aren't looking for stardom:

You can see people make that choice. You can either say yes or no. The people that say no are sitting here.
