The Deadly Syndrome Play LA Weekly's Detour Music Fest, Talk to Artist Direct
RELEASE DATE: 09/11/2007

With the September 11th release of The Deadly Syndrome’s Dim Mak debut just around the corner, the Silver Lake four-piece has been keeping busy with a round of LA dates -- and there doesn’t seem to be an end in site. On the heels of rousing sets at Now Blog This! and Filter’s Revenge of the Sunset Strip, the band is preparing for a September 8th celebration of The Ortolan’s release at the Echo. In addition, they’ve been confirmed to appear at this year’s installment of LA Weekly’s Detour Music Festival in Downtown LA. That means the Syndrome will be sharing a bill with the likes of Bloc Party, electro-grinders Justice, the Comedians of Comedy, Turbonegro, Teddybears, Moving Units, the Raveonettes, Shout Out Louds and host of others. A portion of proceeds will benefit the non-profit organization Tree People, which works to find sustainable solutions to urban ecosystem problems.

In other news, the band recently sat down with Artist Direct to discuss their quick-road to success, the upcoming album, and their Kablamo video series, which can be caught each Monday over at The Tripwire.

What the press is saying about The Deadly Syndrome:

"This hodgepodge of old and new friends began messing around, making noise in the guesthouse of a little ranch, and soon played their first “show” on the porch for some pals. Within months, they were appearing on bills with Silver Lake’s biggest bands (including Cold War Kids and Monsters Are Waiting) and had earned a reputation for explosively energetic live shows..."LA Weekly

"In just a few a short months they are already getting airplay on Indie 103.1, delighting crowds from Sunset to the Eastside, and creating quite a buzz in the A&R world... " – Rock Insider

"There is a Los Angeles band that has played less than 10 shows in its history. They are great. Already. They will be greater.”Sean Moeller of Daytrotter.com

“Maybe live, maybe on other parts of the record, but there will be no Arcade Mouse Parade here. Instead, ‘Winter In You’ has a sense of Tim Buckley's woozy longing, shifting gears with a swift key change into a surrealist-folkie hook.” - Stereogum
