  • To commemorate the thirtieth anniversary of Marc Bolan's death, Edsel Records will release a dinosauresque amount of T. Rex reissues and compilations. First up, Edsel will re-press three T. Rex vinyl singles, with each B-side featuring an unreleased track. Live 1977 + In Conversation, featuring songs from T. Rex's final tour and various interviews, and Interstellar Soul, a three-disc collection of demos and rarities, will be unearthed on October 1st and October 15th, respectively.
  • Twelve years after the death of singer Shannon Hoon, members of Blind Melon along with new singer Travis Warren will tour to promote their first new album since the posthumous Hoon album Nico in 1996. Thus ends any hope of trying out for Rock Star: Blind Melon.
  • Charlotte Gainsbourg is recovering from brain surgery to treat a small hemorrhage. The singer/actress/daughter of Serge was involved in a water-skiing accident a few months ago and has since complained of headaches.
  • Following the record-breaking Labor Day weekend for Halloween, director Rob Zombie wants to make a (temporary?) transition from gory horror flicks to “small dramas like American Splendor.”
  • Yung Joc is $100,000 richer and thirty-five pounds lighter after winning a bet to see who could lose weight the fastest. Spurred on by his management, who probably assumed Joc was $200,000 more marketable without the extra baggage, the MC currently occupying number three on the charts dined on oatmeal, grilled chicken breast and salad.
