30 SECONDS TO MARS SELL-OUT BRIXTON ACADEMY WIN KERRANG! AWARD BEST SINGLE
AND RELEASE ‘THE KILL’

‘The Kill’ will be released on September 24th.

Following their incredibly successful recent world tour - which included two sold-out runs in the UK and a memorable performance at last month’s Download Festival - 30 Seconds to Mars are proud to announce they’ve sold-out their September 14th Brixton Academy show. This will be the band’s largest UK show to date; their last London show was a sold-out performance at London Astoria.

On August 23rd the band won the Best Single category for their song, ‘The Kill’ at the prestigious Kerrang! Awards. The nominations are determined by public voting and 30 Seconds to Mars received one of the highest vote totals among the bands nominated for an award.

‘The Kill’ - a reflective song, driven by beautifully complex guitars and primal beats that segue into an epic, anthemic refrain - has become the longest-running hit in the history of the Modern Rock chart in the U.S. since the chart started monitoring in 1988. The single recently won MTV2 Best Video Award for it’s stunning homage to Stanley Kubrick’s film The Shining (links to video listed below). It was directed by reclusive Danish director, Bartholomew Cubbins.

The bands’ current album - A Beautiful Lie - has scanned over one-million records in the US, in addition to setting radio records with “The Kill,” which peaked at #3 and became the longest-running hit on the history of Billboard’s Modern Rock chart and “From Yesterday,” which made its way to #1 on the same chart. Videos for “The Kill” and “From Yesterday” - the first American video shot entirely in the People’s Republic of China - have been celebrated worldwide, with awards from MTV, MTV2, MTVU and FUSE, among many others.
