Rock Reality Show Recap: Bret Michaels Meets the Parents on an Explosive ?Rock of Lov

Every week Poison frontman Bret Michaels searches for a worthy life partner on Rock of Love, while Rock Daily searches for ways to reference “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” in our Rock Reality Show Recaps. Here's our take on episode ten:
Sixty Minutes of Rockin’ Reality in Two Sentences: Now that Bret Michaels has road-tested his final three potential loves, all that’s left to do is meet the parents. The following hour is a testament to the powers of genetics: Heather’s folks are laidback, beer-swilling, trash-talkers who have no problem with their daughter’s stripper lifestyle; Jes’ mom and dad are sweet, mellow and obviously love their daughter (though her dad makes one ill-advised boob joke); and Lacey’s father oozes the crazy.
Did Every Rose Have Its Thorn?: Remarkably, no — but only because Michaels was too busy attempting to make conversation with people his own age for the first time since wacky Rodeo made her exit.
The Most Ridiculous Part: After an extremely awkward group dinner at which Lacey’s father reveals his “struggling musician” daughter is living off her “investments” and Heather attempts to bring up Lacey’s less-flattering moments of drunkeness and nudity, Lacey returns to her old bag of tricks and sits down with Bret to badmouth her competitors (in this case, Heather, for her career as a dancer). But Heather and Jes easily overhear her and It. Is. On. For ten minutes the two verbally brawl, and Heather makes sure Lacey’s dad and step-mother hear the worst of it. Lacey’s father decides to go the tattletale route his daughter has paved over the past nine episodes and let Michaels know what went down, but by that point, Bret doesn’t want to talk to the weird dude who implied he’d demand a pre-nup should the two get married — to protect his money from Bret.
The Rockin' Finish: Since Jes appears in this episode for about three minutes, it’s clear she’s safely stayed above the fray, and she nabs the first pass. In typical VH1 elimination-ceremony style, Michaels calls down Lacey next … but only to let her go gently. Ding dong, y’all, free at last, free at last! Next week Michaels takes Heather and Jes to Mexico for the final showdown.
