Cage The Elephant in the NME - Again!

Their debut single "Free Love / Tiny Little Robots" will be released Early November. “A Kentucky five-piece who recall the live intensity of Rage Against the Machine, the gasoline-soaked riffs of early Led Zep and latter-day Rolling Stones. Hailing from Kentucky, USA, Cage The Elephant are the next big thing to hit the ‘alternative’ rock scene. Fresh from a highly successful Canadian tour with Queens of the Stone Age, Cage The Elephant are about to take the UK by storm with the release of their debut 7” “Freelove” b/w “Tiny Little Robots”. Members Matt & Brad Shultz, Jared Champion, Daniel Tichenor, and Lincoln Parish begin their first ever UK tour on 23rd September, kicking off at Clash Magazine’s night at Camden’s Lock Tavern alongside Boy Kill Boy, then on to Club Fandango at Dublin Castle on 25/9 and Another Music=Another Kitchen presents Drink!Dance!Die! at the Barfly on 27/9, finishing at the Brighton Ocean Rooms on 31st October – see below for full list of UK dates. Already hailed as ‘Ones to Watch’ by Clash magazine and NME, Cage have been likened to rock legends such as Rage Against the Machine and Led Zeppelin, and these guys definitely have the attitude and balls to go all the way. Speaking to Clash magazine, frontman Matt Shultz made it clear they were in this game for the music – “We care more about creative control than money… because if you don’t have that then your music dies”. Brothers Matt & Brad Shultz along with drummer Jared Champion have been together for about 7 years with lead guitarist Lincoln Parish and bassist Daniel Tichenor joining to complete the line-up. Together they deliver an edgy raucous sound, with an already established fanbase from their MySpace site and Canadian tour. Cage’s debut album is due for release on Relentless in early 2008.
