Billie Joe comments on Al Gore win, encourages people to contact Congress

Kudos has been coming in from Al Gore fans on his recent Nobel Peace Prize win, the latest from Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong who took the opportunity to congratulate the former Futurama character:

I just heard that Al Gore just won the Nobel Peace prize for his work in the fight against global warming. I think it's great that this issue is finally getting the recognition it deserves. It's becoming a part of our everyday lives. People aren't just talking about it, we're really starting to live it. And I feel that Al Gore has been very influential in bringing this into the mainstream. Kudos to you, Al Gore.

He also encourages people to get involved with the National Resources Defense Council and contact congress via this form. Besides winning the Nobel, Al Gore will be returning to Futurama for an appearance in Bender's Big Score. For reals.
