Young AC/DC fans eager to ride the Information Superhighway to Hell to the bands official Web site often get detoured by images filthier than anything the Australian rock group could have conjured. The Internet domain for ACDC.com was held for years by a company specializing in porn, so when new fans and the clueless sought out tour dates or album info, they ended up with a screen full of NSFW imagery and other dirty deeds done for a monthly credit card subscription. Thankfully, the bands management has finally claimed the domain name back after years of, frankly, not caring. “The demographic of the band has shifted a lot,” the bands label manager Sam Horsburgh said. “The push to get it back came predominantly because they knew there were a lot of younger fans coming through.” As of now, the site is simply back in all black with text warning of an impending launch in “Fall 2007.” The site also links to the bands previous official site, ACDCrocks.com and a site where you can purchase their new, record-shattering live DVD Plug Me In.
