John Mayer, a Rock Bloggin’ vet, is one of only a few stars cerebrally aware of this nation’s celebrity obsession. To help satisfy his fans’ insatiable appetite for gossip, Mayer is now sharing the most personal aspect of his life with the visitors of the johnmayer.com blog: His meals. In a post dated yesterday, titled “MY CLEBRITY MLOG,” Mayer shows fans pictures of a veggie burger, beer-batter onion rings and a taco salad. What an insightful look into the guitarist’s life. Is he a vegetarian? The fans want to know. Mayer, in an attempt to lay claim over his artistic domain, watermarks each picture with bold, transparent text. “The tabloids and entertainment news shows will froth at the mouth, wanting to grant this unprecedented level of access to the world, and I want to be able to thoughtfully control my image. Of my food,” Mayer says.
Rock Daily is told that the singer-guitarist enjoys poking fun at celeb-obsessed blogs like Perez Hilton’s, which is funny, but we already knew Mayer was a comedian. We are slightly concerned with Mayer’s diet, though: Looking at the greasy fare in the photos, it doesn’t take a dietician to point out that while his fans are laughing at this post, his arteries are crying.
