Jimmy Page?s Pinky Recovering Well: ?It?s a Nuisance Because It?s Really Needed?

Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page is making a swift recovery from the broken finger that forced the band to temporarily delay its reunion concert at the Ahmet Ertegun benefit concert from November 26th to December 10th. Speaking from the Classic Rock Awards, where he picked up a “living legend” honor, Page told reporters, “I’ve broken fingers before, a lot worse than this” and that the damage was “not permanent.” Page also admitted that he broke his left pinky — yes, a finger on his fretboard hand: “It’s a nuisance because it’s really needed” — after falling in his garden, which is somehow appropriate for an English rock star. As for Zep’s potential setlist when the band finally takes the stage, Page reveals that the band will play “a lot of the songs that people would want to hear.” If that’s not a guarantee for “Down by the Seaside,” we don’t know what is.
Speaking for the millionth time about a possible full reunion tour, Page said, “At the moment, I’m told we’re doing one gig. That’s a bit unfortunate for all the people that would have liked to have seen us, but I can understand why some of the other members don’t want to be touring,” which makes it sound like he’s game for more dates. Page later reiterated that the reunion show is a “one-night stand,” but also that “nothing is impossible.” Back at the Classic Rock Awards, trophies were given to Meatloaf, who wasn’t present due to medical issues, the late Mick Ronson and rock’s longest-running one-hit wonder (over here anyway), Status Quo.
