
- R.E.M., Beastie Boys, Phil Lesh & Friends, the Roots and eighty-four other acts will play the sixth annual Langerado Festival March 6th-9th, 2008 on the Big Cypress Indian Reservation in South Florida’s Everglades. Tickets go on sale tomorrow at noon.
- The Hannah Montana ticket uproar has reached the courts: A lawsuit was filed yesterday on behalf of a New Jersey woman and other fans who feel the Disney star’s fan club did not fulfill its promise to offer access to priority concert tickets in exchange for a $29.95 annual membership fee.
- Former Pantera drummer Vinnie Paul Abbott has announced Dimevision 2, a DVD tribute to late Pantera/Damageplan guitarist “Dimebag” Darrell Abbott, is in production. A photo book will also come next year: “We are very excited about this as it’s a true tribute to the King himself,” Abbott reportedly said.
- For the second time, a thief has stolen John Lennon’s famous glasses from a statue in Liverpool’s John Lennon Airport. Tom Murphy, the Liverpool artist who designed the seven-foot bronze memorial, says “John lovers should fear not. Weve put a temporary pair on for now and are getting a new pair recast soon.”
- Yesterday shareholders approved Sirius Satellite Radio Inc.’s purchase of XM Satellite Radio Holdings Inc. for $5 billion. The companies must now seek approval from the Department of Justice and FCC, which originally decided the merger was illegal, but indicated that ruling could change.
